What you need
- A marriage registered at a Thai district office (amphur), or a foreign marriage registered in Thailand. The certificate is called Kor Ror 2 or 3 (and Kor Ror 22 for foreign marriages).
- 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account in your name for at least 2 months, or 40,000 THB a month in income.
- Your spouse's ID card and house registration book (tabien baan).
- Photos of you together at home, and sometimes a simple map.
The yearly extension
Apply at your immigration office with your spouse. Both of you usually need to attend.
Bring the bank letter and book, marriage certificate, your spouse's ID and house book, photos and the TM.7 form.
Expect a 30-day 'under consideration' stamp and a home visit by an officer during that period.
Return to collect the full year's extension.
